EL SEGUNDO, CA – February 2, 2006 – For the fourth year, E Team, the proven, market-leading emergency and event management collaborative software is being used for security at the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl XL is one of the largest security events since 9/11 and is classified by law enforcement officials as a Special Event Level-1, the highest security level possible. More than ten thousand security-related personnel are deployed for the game.
NC4’s E Team platform harnesses the power of teamwork by linking authorities from the City of Detroit as well as regional, State of Michigan and United States federal agencies responsible for safety and security into one common view and one information sharing system. It connects all of the key players critical to an effective incident response to ensure that the right information gets to the right people at the right time, regardless of their location. E Team allows authorities to observe, assess and analyze data from spontaneous and planned events to make accurate and timely decisions, assuring the safety of all the fans and celebrants.
SAIC is a partner in providing the incident management solution for this event.
More than 400 individuals have access to the system to report and monitor incidents, manage planned activities, handle crowd control and traffic and deploy police, fire and paramedics and federal authorities should the need arise.
E Team is used by many emergency management and law enforcement agencies around the world, including the Michigan State Police.
“E Team has proven itself many times over,” said Dan Sibo of the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management Division. “It allows us to tie in many parts of the state into volumes of information.”
Powerful mapping tools allow E Team users to geo-locate incidents, resources, facilities, and other critical information, with map views ranging from national and state levels down to streets and floor plans. It also allows users to send broadcast messages, new information alerts, and situational updates to system users and external recipients in the form of email, cell phone, and/or pager notifications.
“E Team has a stellar reputation in the public sector,” according to Jim Montagnino, NC4’s President, “including managing major emergencies and prominent events such as New York City’s response to 9/11; hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Charley, Frances and Ivan; the tsunami disaster; 2003 Northeast Blackout; Arizona and California wildfires; Salt Lake City and Athens Olympics; four Super Bowls; 2004 Democratic and Republican National Conventions; 2004 G8 Summit; and 2005 Presidential Inauguration.”
