Interview with Mark Perry

Mark Perry, author of the recently published Partners in Command: George Marshall and Dwight Eisenhower in War and Peace, is also a well-regarded scholar on Middle Eastern affairs with contacts at the highest levels of the governments in the region, as well as with key members of sub-national groups including Hamas and Hezbollah. He recently returned from the region following discussions with senior officials in Lebanon, Syria, and Israel, as well as the Palestinian government. He shares with TranSecur his insights on current developments in the region, including a surprisingly optimistic perspective on the prospects for stability there. These developments rest on discussions between adversaries which have received little notice in the United States.
